Savitri born at Chirravur in Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh on 6th December 1935.

Savitri was a great actress with expressive eyes.She was good dancer in Bharathanatyam and Kuchipudi. She was an actress with wide eyes and excellent expressions with eyes. Her diction of dialogues was impressive and catchy.
Savitri acted in 150 plus films. Not only in Telugu cinema but was very popular for Tamil film goers acting in many Tamil movies also.
Her action as Sasirekha in the film Mayabazar can be rated as best in her film career.
