Anjali Devi Birthday Today
Anjali Devi is a very popular veteran actress of Telugu Cinema. Anjali Devi born on 24th of August 1927 at Peddapuram in East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh.
She was a theatre artist prior to entering cine world. She has made her entry through the film Gollabhama as Mohini directed by C Pulliah released in the year 1947.
Then acted along with ANR in the super hit film Balaraju directed by Ghantasala Balaramaiah released in the year 1948.
In the film Keelugurram she acted as a princes and also as a demon (Rakshasi) with ANR as hero directed and produced by Raja of Mirzapur in the year 1949.
She has portrayed the role of Sita in the first Telugu Geva Colour movie Lava Kusa with NTR as Rama directed by C S Rao. This was a super hit boxoffice movie.
She has married the music director Adinarayana Rao and they have established Anjali Pictures for film production. The film Anarkali produced by Anjali Picutres was a musical hit.
Music director provided melodious tunes. The song “Rajasekhara Neepai moju theeraledura rajasala yelara” is one of the best songs of Telugu films.
“Hayi hayiga aamani sagi voogi povu madi vuyyalaga jumpalaga” and “Piluvakura alugakura nalugurilo nanu o raja” are unforgettable songs from the film Suvarnasundari.
As a heroine her last movie was “Kunkuma Bharani” with Kantha Rao in male lead. This is the last picture of Anjalidevi as Glamorous heroine.
She has acted as Sathi Sakkubai, Sathi Sumathi and Sathi Anasuya in title roles of the films.
In the film Badipanthulu she lived in the role playing NTR’s wife.
