100 Years of Indian Cinema:

The Indian cinema is celebrating the 100 year completion. Telugu cinema is completing 82 years of its first release of Bhaktha Prahlada (1931). As part of celebrations of Indian Cinema, businessoftollywood.com remembers and recollects the information of The Greats of Early Telugu Cinema 

Bhanumati Ramakrishna was a great actress, producer, director, music director, singer, songs writer, book writer, editor and studio owner.

Bhanumathi born on 7th September in the year 1925 at Doddavaram village of Prakasam District in Andhra Pradesh. She was the 3rd child Saraswathamma and Bommaraju Venkata Subbaiah.

She used to watch her father performing stage shows. Her father was a staunch lover of classical music and gave her training in music. She entered the Tollywood in the year 1935.

She acted nearly in 200 films both in Telugu and Tamil. She was also called as ‘Ashtavadhani” by the Telugu Film Industry.

She was married to P.S.Rama Krishna who was an Assistant Director in the year 1942. He was .a producer, director and editor in Telugu Film Industry. She has a son his name is Bharani.

She used to sing her songs. She entered into the industry as an actress and then she started even directing the movies.She started her directing career with the film ’Chandi Rani’ in the year 1953

7.She was Honoured with NTR National Award by Government of Andhra Pradesh in the year 2000.
8.She received the Prestigious Padma Bhushan National Award from Government of India in the year 2003.
9.She won the National Film Award for Best Book on Cinema for her Naalo Nenu in the year 1994.
Bhanumathi Rama Krishna died on 24th December in the year 2005 at Chennai.
