D Vidyasagar a well-known and energetic choreographer of Telugu Film Industry, was born on 21st May,1981 in Vijayawada. This outstanding choreographer was not only famous in tollywood, but also famous in other parts of southern film industry. Today we got an opportunity to interview one of the promising choreographers and here as it starts.

 

Tell us about your family?

My Father is a retired police officer ,mother is a home maker and I am the only son, also I am the first person to enter into film industry from my family .

How were you fascinated with choreography?

Since childhood, it was my dream to become a choreographer.

What efforts did you take to become a choreographer?

I have learnt Classical Dance under Ashok garu (presently working under a post-production movie called Pilla Zamindar). Then I have shifted from Vijayawada to Hyderabad and registered with a fee of Rs.3000 in “Andhra Pradesh Film Dancers and Dance directors Association”(APFDDA).

Did you face any struggles?

Initially, for every fresher struggles are common, the only thing matters is how we take them and go ahead with hard work.

Which was your first break through in films?

In the movie Swapana Lokam, i was selected as a group dancer under Lawrence and worked under him from 1997 to 1999. After that I was suggested as an Assistant to Krishna Reddy master and worked under him from 1999 to 2001.

Which was your debut film as a choreographer?

Priyadarshini was my debut film and Davala mallik was the director of that movie.

Apart from tollywood, did you choreograph in any other regional movies?

I have choreographed two films in Tamil (Police Quarters(2010), Chapter six) and two films in kannada (Police Quarters(2010) , Abhimani ). I also did two Bojpuri film.

Did you face any barriers while choreographing apart from tollywood?

It wasn’t a problem because all the things are common in this craft.

In the films you have worked, can you list us some best dancers in tollywood?

Priyamani, Saloni and few more, as there are many good dancers in tollywood.

Can you list us some of the best dancers in tollywood?

Anushka is extremely versatile.

As you learnt classical dance, who is your favorite classical dancer from the movie industry?

Bhanu priya.

Who is your all time favorite dancer?

Legendary Michael Jackson.

Are there any difficulties or problems in choreography department?

According to me, difficulties or problems are common in every field, but you have to take it in a challenging way and resolve it.

Total number of films you choreographed?

More than 80 films.

Total number of songs you have choreographed?

More than 150 songs.

What are your future goals?

I want to work with all the top stars.

Any message to your fans or upcoming choreographers?

Problems, troubles or difficulties are like passing clouds, we have to take each one as a lesson and should be careful for the next time . We have to work with Confidence and hard work. I whole heartedly want to thank everyone for supporting me and I wish all the success to them.
