Interview With Harshavardhan Rane
Harshavardhan Rane is a multi talented upcoming actor in Tollywood. He already worked in three film’s and is now playing one of the leads in ‘Prema Ishq Kaadal’ which is under production by Lucky media. Even some projects with popular directors are in discussions. He was recently rated 17th in Hyderabad’s 25 most desirable men by Times of India. Businessoftollywood.com team interviewed him to get an insight of both his personal and professional life. Here is the excerpt of the interview:
About his family
Harshavardhan Rane was born in Rajahumdry on 16th December 1983. But he was brought up in Gwalior. His father Vivek Rane was a dermatologist and his mother Swarnarekha Rao is a house maker. His sister Rohini is a collage topper in MBA and is working in Mumbai in a prestigious finance company. His grandfather(mother’s father) is a industrialist in Hyderabad, He is the manufacturer of ‘Arrow’ matchbox. Harshvardhan used to visit Hyderabad during his vacation and loved to have ‘Pootarekulu’ an Andhra sweet, No doubt he connects easily to the city and Tollywood .
He refreshes some childhood memories
As a child he was quite experimental and created a laboratory at house and even made prototypes of 3D models. He used to love music. He completed his Plus two in Gwalior.
Harshavardhan Rane’s journey from Gwalior to Tollywood
After completion of Plus two in Gwalior , Harsh’s dad wanted him to become a doctor but he could not imagine himself as a doctor, Instead he fealt he can do well in performing arts or media. So he shifted to Delhi and started working at different places to make both ends meet,Then while discussing with his friend Meenakshi got an idea to go to Mumbai to pursue acting career. In Mumbai he took help of his friend Nanditha Kanduri to take time to settle and worked as anchor in TV and worked in NDTV pilot project for ‘The Great Indian Love Challenge’. Then he got a chance to work in Sab TV in ‘Left Right Left’. Though he was well settled after this, His interest to work in silver screen took him to the auditions conducted by Abbas Tyrewala, but eventually he was spotted by Bharat Thakur and Bhoomika Chawla for their debut production venture ‘Thakita Thakita’ and got his first break in Tollywood. He feels that many people helped him during this journey and is thankful to them.
Professional training in acting
He graduated from the Barry John Acting Studio and has performed in many theatrical ventures.
About his works in Tollywood
He worked in ‘Thakita Thakita’ directed by Sreenari Nanu , ‘Naa Ishtam’ directed by Prakash Tholeti, ‘Avunu’ directed by Ravi Babu and now working in ‘Prema Ishq Kaadal’ directed by Pawan Sadineni.
About his role in ‘Prema Ishq Kaadal’
He is playing the role of a Rock star and café shop owner , He feels that there are many shades in this character and was very well portrayed and connects well with himself. His hairstyle in the movie is the highlight. He was paired opposite Vithika Sheru in this movie.
His other milestones
‘ A Streetcar Named Desire’ a theatrical venture and ‘Infinity’ short film ,which gained him lot of popularity. He played the CCL with the Tollywood stars. He was also featured in an ad for Chennai Super Kings for the brand 7Up.
About His Hobbies
He likes photography, does carpentry, designs walls ,does textures furniture. Likes to play badminton .
When asked about his strengths
I want to learn more and passionate about whatever I do and always wanted to do something which takes me to the next level.
His insight about Tollywood
I love this industry and lucky to be here at very right time. As now industry is open to new talent, Even without any film background they are welcoming you. Only thing is that you need to have a lot of patience and do hard work and groom yourself.
