Nayantara
Nayantara, tollywood’s beloved actress who has an elegance and enigma that can be donned only by her, was born as a Malayali christian by the name Diana Mariam Kurian. The actress, who won the hearts of many telugu audiences started her acting career in her mother tongue malayalam, although she acted mostly in telugu and tamil movies for the rest of her career. She was introduced into the telugu film world through the dubbed movies Chandramukhi and Ghajini which helped her gain a fan base in tollywood although her first telugu movie was the Venkatesh starrer Lakshmi. Nayantara then, went on to act in many tollywood movies, some of them being Boss, Tulasi, Adurs, Simha and Sri Rama Rajyam which were successful at the box office.
Nayantara, who is known for her ability to slide into any role and bring her own appeal to it has won many accolades for her performances in the South Indian film industry. In telugu, her role as Sita in Sri Rama Rajyam won her critical acclaim and many awards including the Filmfare award south, Nandi award, CineMAA award, Ugadi puraskaram and the Santhosham award. She also won awards for her performance in Tulasi.
Nayantara’s future projects include the highly awaited Nagarjuna starrer ‘Greeku Veerudu’ and Shekhar Kammula’s remake of Kahaani.
