100 years of Indian Cinema

The first Indian Cinema was Raja Harishchandra(silent movie) released on 3rd of May 1913.This move was produced and directed by D Hundiraj Govind Phalke(Dadasaheb Phalke).This was made on Phalke’s Films Banner.The information and Broadcasting Ministry and the Film world are celebrating the centenary of Indian Cinema.The centenary of Indian Cinema Festival was inaugurated at New Delhi on 25th of April 2013 by Information & Broadcasting MinisterManish Tewari.This was attended by many film celebrities from the Indian Cinema.

The South Indian Cinema also is planning to celebrate 100 years of Indian Cinema on large scale.

Film federation of India, South Indian film chamber, Andhra. Pradesh film chamber, Karnataka film chamber and Kerala film chamber are planning to unite and celebrate with a glittering function on the eve of Indian cinema completing 100 years. The celebrations will be atChennai on 12th, 13th and 14th of July 2013.
