This is also the 9th time Dhanush and his older brother Selvaraghavan have collaborated. Also, this movie also marks the first movie Selvaraghavan has acted in Dhanush’s directorial.
At the audio launch event of the film, Dhanush spoke up about his elder brother and actor Selvaraghavan whom he credited for his acting career. He said, “It was my brother and director Selvaraghavan, who made me an actor. He is my teacher, my Guru. He taught me cricket, taught me to eat and fight in life.”
He further added during the shoot of Raayan, he would get quite angry if other actors had to do a second take. But if it was for his elder brother, he would be happy. He revealed that the reason behind this is that his brother used to torture him a lot during the shoot of the film, so it was “joyous” to see Selvaraghavan facing the same torture and suffering just like him.
Notably, Dhanush has begun his acting career in Thulluvadho Ilamai which was directed by his father, Kasthuri Raja and written by his brother Selvaraghavan, .
Raayan is also an A.R.Rahman musical and is set to be released on 26th July in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi Languages.
