Thandel Movie Review
Emotional Engagement Emoji
Thandel movie is the story of a leader as to how he stands by the group of fishermen he leads keeping their welfare as his major priority and leads from the front in the challenges they face .
The first half of the movie mainly focuses on showing the lifestyle of fishermen from Srikakulam who go away from their home for 9 months in an year to different shores of the nation where they are hired to go on risky sea expeditions for fishing to earn their livelihood . The challenges their families and loved ones face missing them and not even able to get a chance to talk to them over mobile phone due to lack of network in the ocean are shown in detail . The second half is totally about the real story on which this movie is based in which 22 fishermen who were caught in the Pakistan sea waters and spent 14 months in Karachi Jail were released after efforts mainly from the families of the fishermen who were relentlessly putting forward their case in front of state and central Governments .
The music of this film is a highlight and Devi Sri Prasad has put this movie on a pedestal with the songs as well as the soulful background scores especially the ones composed using Violin which is his USP. All the songs have received a very good response with Bujji Thalli standing out and is also like the theme song of this movie. All the people who worked in the music department of this movie have a great chance of winning awards as well.
Sai Pallavi who plays the character of Satya maintains her top standards delivering yet another top notch performance with her acting and dance skills and her chemistry with Naga Chaitanya has worked well for the second time on screen after Love Story , she has also adapted very well to the Srikakulam slang which adds another dimension to her skills . Naga Chaitanya does well as Raju and emerged as a winner from the challenges of doing action sequences in the ocean , adapting to the slang and vibe of Srikakulam and sharing good on screen chemistry with Sai Pallavi. Karunakaran plays a major supporting character in the movie . Prakash Belawadi and Prithviraj do well in their roles which have a crucial part in the story.
Overall Thandel is a good movie mainly because of the engaging story and screenplay by Chandoo Mondeti and the music which blends really well with it and makes for a good viewing in a theater .
