Anushka Shetty is one of the top most heroines in South India of this generation. Her original name is Sweety Shetty, born on 7th November 1981 at Mangalore, Karnataka. She is a B.C.A. graduate from Mount Carmel College, Bangalore. She worked as a yoga instructor , who got trained under the yoga guru Bharath Thakur.
She made the acting debut with the film “super” directed by Puri Jagannadh, released in 2005. Later the movie S.S.Rajamouli’s “Vikramarkudu” released in 2006 made her very popular in Telugu Cinema. This movie was her first block buster hit. Later she acted in many movies like “Astram”(2006) which was a remake of Amir Khan’s “Sarfarosh”(1999), Lakshyam (2007), Chintakayala Ravi (2008), Baladoor (2003), Khaleja (2010), Her movie “Arundhati” released in 2009 is one of her best movies. She is looking apt in the role of Jejamma and did a tremendous job in that movie. She received many awards for this movie. She made a special appearence opposite Mega star Chiranjeevi for the movie ” Stalin” (2006) directed by A.R.Murgadoss. She did an outstanding performance as a prostitute in ” Vedam” (2010) directed by Krish. Currently she is busy with her projects “Rudama Devi” directed by Guna Shekar, “Baahubali” directed by S.S.Raja Mouli. She created a place for herself in the industry in a short period.
She even acted in Tamil movies. Her first movie in Kollywood is “Rendu” (2006) opposite to Madhavan and directed by Sundar.C. Her movie ” Singam” released in 2010 paired opposite to Surya and directed by Hari was a big block buster hit. This movie was released in Telugu titled as “Yamudu”, Now she is getting ready to rock the theaters with the Sequel “Singam 2” directed by Hari and paired opposite to the handsome hero Surya.
