Review

Bachchala Malli is a well made film for it’s budget.

Allari Naresh delivers one of his best performances as Malli. His performance alone, elevates the movie and makes us feel for the character. Amritha Aiyer fits well into her role. Rao Ramesh’s character starts off understated but gains prominence in the second half, adding weight to the narrative. Supporting actors like Praveen, Rohini Molleti, and Balagam Jayaram deliver commendable performances.

The main strength of then movie is it being a character driven story, never loses focus of it’s title character. This in turn never bores us with unnecessary story arcs. But this also has affected the other characters, whose stories feel short or incomplete.

The cinematography is done by Richard M. Nathan and is excellent for the most part.

The music fills the space but is nothing special and doesn’t really elevate the scene.

The dialogue and characters feel very simplistic at times.

Verdict

Bachchala Malli has it’s flaws but would definitely recommend to watch it this weekend. It is a one time watch atleast.
