Bommareddy Narasimha Reddy (B N Reddy) born on 16th November 1908 at Y Kotthapalli village in Cuddapah district of Andhra Pradesh.

Today is his 113th Birth Anniversary.

He was a charted accountant by profession and a stage artiste by passion.

He was the brother of the great producer B Nagi Reddy of Vijaya Pictures.

B N Reddy is one of the Great directors of early Telugu cinema.

The musical classic “Malleswari” was directed by this great director.

For the film Rangula Ratnam he thought that Chandra Mohan is the right actor for the role. So he Introduced actor Chandramohan with this film.

He made actress Vanisri act in an entirely different village girl role in his film Bangarupunjaram.

He was one of the great directors in early Telugu cinema that took care for the script, selecting actors and music and presentation.

For most of his movies, B N Reddy preferred the services of great writer Palagummi Padmaraju as Lyricist and dialogue writer.

B N Reddy extracted the best action from S V Ranga Rao in his Film Bangarupapa which incidentally the second film for actor Jaggaiah in his film career.

B N Reddy produced his films on Vauhini Pictures Banner.He was also a Shareholder (Partner) of Vauhini Studios at Chennai.

The Post &Telegraph dept. has released  postal stamp of B N Reddy in the year 2008, the year of his birth centenary to commemorate his services to Telugu Cinema. This great film personality who contributed his best for the development of Telugu cinema died on 8th of November 1977 at Chennai.
