FILM DIRECTOR RAM GOPAL VARMA
Ram Gopal Varma popularly known as RGV or Ramu is a famous Indian film director, screen writer and also a producer, who mostly make films in Telugu and Hindi Languages. He is born on 7th April 1962. His father Krishnam Raju Varma worked as a sound recordist at Annapoorna Studios. He completed his B.E. in Civil engineering from V.R. Siddartha College Of Engineering, Vijayawada. He worked as assistant director to the famous director B. Gopal for the movie Collector Gaari Abbayi. Later, in the year 1989 he directed the movie “Shiva” starring Nagarjuna Akkineni and Amala in the main leads. He also introduced the actor J.D. Chakravarthy to the film industry through this movie. Unexpectedly it turned out to be a block buster movie of the year and set a new trend in the making of the films . Similarly his second venture “Kshana Kshanam” starring Venkatesh and Sridevi released in the year 1991 was also a big hit. He has his own style of making the films and he directs the movies based on the day to day crimes, super natural powers and also about the Mumbai under world gangsters. Some of his movies like “Sathya “, “Shiva”, “Antham”, “Money”, “Kshana Khanam”, “Gaayam”, “Raktha Charitra” are the ever green movies which gained him popularity. Some of his movies are musical hit even. The movie “Raktha Charithra” is being based on the life of the politician Paritala Ravindra. He wrote an autobiography titled Naa Ishtam.
