Director Uday BommiSetty Interview
Anand Deverakonda’s Performance in Gam Gam Ganesha is the major highlight Director Uday BommiSetty
Anand Deverakonda’s latest movie, Gam Gam Ganesha, features Pragathi Srivastava and Nayan Sarika as heroines opposite Anand. The film is produced by Kedar Selagamsetty and Vamsi Karumanchi under the banner HyLife Entertainment. Uday Setty makes his directorial debut with this film, which is set for a grand theatrical release tomorrow. Director Uday Setty recently shared the highlights of the movie in an interview.
I used to work as a writer in Vijayendra Prasads team. Once, during a Ganesh immersion program in Hyderabad, the story idea came to me. I sent this script synopsis to Anand Deverakondas team through my friend, director Anudeep KV. That evening, I received a phone call asking me to come and discuss the script. After clearing their doubts, Anand agreed to do the project, and thus the journey of Gam Gam Ganesha began.
Anand Deverakonda has previously portrayed Boy Next Door characters with a soft nature. In Gam Gam Ganesha, the hero character has shades of grey. The character is tricky, funky, and energetic, a new type for Anand, who has never played such a role before. He seemed like the perfect choice, so I approached him.
The story revolves around a statue of Lord Ganesha, with many characters attempting to acquire it. All the characters in the movie have shades of grey. One heroine is portrayed in a positive light, while the other behaves negatively due to circumstances, not out of inherent badness.
The movie starts with a Hyderabad background and then shifts to Kurnool. In the second half, Vennela Kishores character provides a lot of humor. People who saw the preview commented that they wished Vennela Kishores role was longer because they enjoyed it so much. The film does not have a traditional love story; instead, the two heroines play key roles as part of the storys journey. Nayan Sarika and Pragathi Srivastava performed well.
The screenplay of Gam Gam Ganesha is impressive, filled with twists and turns that maintain interest. This movie will feel fresh even if it is released years from now. Anand was very supportive during the making of Gam Gam Ganesha, delivering excellent dialogue, timing, and reactions. His performance is a highlight of the film, embodying all the elements of a commercial hero.
Fear, greed, and conspiracy are universal traits, varying in intensity among individuals. Gam Gam Ganesha explores how these traits lead people to different situations. We shot Gam Gam Ganesha in parallel with the movie Baby. The emotional content in Baby contrasts with the energetic, comedic character in our film. Shifting between these two films was challenging for Anand. After the success of Baby, we are excited to release our movie. Audiences are eager to see Gam Gam Ganesha in theaters.
To celebrate Vijayendra Prasads birthday, I narrated the story of Gam Gam Ganesha to him again, and he enjoyed it. His positive feedback boosted my confidence. Anands family and friends watched Gam Gam Ganesha and liked it very much.
I am inspired by Puri Jagannath, but I love the drama in Rajamoulis movies. My next movie will be an action drama, aiming to achieve a similar impact.
