Venkatesh Prasad,former Indian International Cricketer is making a debut in a bi-lingual(Kanada,Telugu) movie titled as ‘Sachin Tendulkar Illa’ in kannada and ‘Sachin Tendulkar Kaadu’ in Telugu.Suhasini Maniratnam and former cricketer Javgal Srinath are also playing vital roles.The movie is being directed by Mohan.This movie launched on 10th of February is continuing its shooting schedules at a good pace,Gangadhar is the producer of the movie,
Cricketers acting in movies started with former Indian all-rounder Salim Durani in an Hindi movie ‘Charitra’ with Praveen Babi as heroine released in the year 1973.Former cricketer Sandeep Patil who scored 6 fours in an over of England speedster Bob Willis to reach 100 has also debuted through an Hindi movie ‘Kabhi Ajnabi’ with Poonam Dhillan as heroine released in 1985.Former cricketers Ajay Jadeja and Salil Ankola have also acted in movies as well in T V Serials.
