Ghantasala Balaramayya was a director, producer and an actor from Telugu Film Industry.

Ghantasala Balaramayya born in the year 1906 in Pottepalem in Nellore District in Andhra Pradesh.

He is the grandfather of present popular music director S.Thaman.

He started his own production house”Prathiba Pictures

He was the person who introduced the evergreen hero ‘Akkineni Nageswar Rao’ to the Telugu film industry through   Prathiba Pictures Production,”Seetarama Jananam” in 1942.

His first movie as a director in Telugu was “Parvathi Kalyanam” in the year 1941.
