k prathyagathmaK Prathyagathma was born at Gudivada Town in Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh on 31st of October 1925. Prathyagathma entered the Media Industry as a journalist and as an Editor for introduced Krishnam Telugu Magazines. He got himself introduced to Telugu Cinema as a Director for the film “Bharyabharthalu” released in the year 1961 with A N R and Krishnakumari in lead roles. He has introduced Krishnam Raju as hero in his film “Chilaka Gorinka” which he has produced and directed. He has made Hindi actress Nutan sing a song in the film “Chilaka Gorinka”. He has also introduced T R Jayadev as a Playback singer through his film “Chilaka Gorinka” for which Saluri Rajeswara Rao scored music.

He is the first Telugu film director to make two great music directors S Rajeswara Rao and T Chalapathi Rao work together for providing music for the film ”Manchi Manishi”.

He has introduced Actress Jayalalitha (present chief minister of Tamil Nadu) at the age of sixteen years in the lead role to the Telugu Cinema with the film ”Manushulu-Mamathalu”(Censor given A Certificate)

Prathyagathma’s first film Bhrayabharthalu was hit at box-office.

Prathyagathma directed film Punarjanma was remade in to Hindi as Khilona.
