Khayyum

Khayyum , a young, vibrant supporting artist of telugu industry has worked with all leading male actors ranging from Nagarjuna to Allari naresh. Here are the excerpts of the interview-

We started the interview at Khayyum’s house in Srinagar colony, Hyderabad a serene setting for a wonderful interview. Khayyum, dressed in a casual t-shirt and a pair of jeans. His introduction with the grease paint happened at a very young age way back in 1991 when he portrayed the role of a child artist, incidentally both his brother Mr.Ali and his all time favorite actor and his childhood Idol Mr.Kamal Haasan were introduced to cinema in a similar fashion.

He acted as a child artist in more than 40 movies. However in 1999, he re-surfaced to cinema after completing his education in the movie “Hai” and he said it was an over whelming experience to give his first shot in front of the camera. His co-stars Aryan rajesh (s/o of late Director legend EVV) and Nikita were more than accommodating and welcoming and they were all new to the field and had loads of fun working in it. Since then it’s been 12 years and now the young lad is a veteran of 90 movies.

Khayyum an ardent fan of Kamal Haasan as mentioned above shares the same starting alphabet. Nagarjuna and Rambha were his favorites in the 90s during his growing up years. Hello Brother was his favourite movie in the nineties and still remains to be in his all time list. Khayyum, has got an incredible gift of comic timing, thanks to his genes and his elder brother Ali, who happens to be one of the leading comedians in the telugu industry.

Khayyum’s family is originally from Rajahmundry and his schooling was done here in Hyderabad. Allari Naresh and Khayyum were college mates. Upon enquiring about his histrionics on the silver screen, he said working for the movie Blade Babji was a great fun and sharing screen space with his college mate Naresh was even more special. Upon asking him about his dream role, Khayyum with conviction answered that he wants to emulate the characters played by yesteryear stars like Sri Mohan Babu and comedian Sudhakar donning the hat of a negative shaded comic character.

When asked about his current projects he said he is now working with Allari Naresh in the film “MADATHAKAJA” under the direction of new director Mr.Sita Ramaraju produced by Adinetha film producer Mr. KK Radha Mohan and is going to release in the mid of August 2011.
