Mazaka is a Telugu Romantic Comedy Movie Starring Sundeep Kishan, Rao Ramesh, Ritu Varma, Anshu Sagar. Directed by Trinadha Rao Nakkina, it is produced by Razesh Danda.
Story
Krishna and his father Venkata Ramana lead a simple life in Visakhapatnam. Krishna has trouble finding a bride due to the non-presence of women in their family. Later Krishna meets Meera and Venkata Ramana meets Yashoda. The unusual situation of both father and son trying to woo their respective women at the same time forms a majority of the story. Find out how this already unusual situation devolves with even more twists.
Review
While the concept of a father and son simultaneously pursuing their love is interesting, the movie primarily runs on the comedy, which fails. The scenes are written in an extremely generic fashion, the comedy scenes resembling comedy skits from shows like Jabardasth. We can figure out how the comedy will be in the first 20 minutes of the movie, so the enjoyment of the rest of the film depends on if you enjoy this type of comedy. While some of the twists are new, we can easily guess most twists in this movie.
The music is good but the placement of so many songs also add to our frustration.
The cinematography is decent. The editing could have saved this movie if they could’ve removed some of the comedy scenes which go on for too long.
All of the actors have given a decent performance, Rao Ramesh shines with his good comedy chops but could not save this badly written movie.
Conclusion
While the idea and the cast seem fun, this movie fails to generate enough laughs to keep it entertaining. A better written script with better jokes is desired for this cast with good entertainment potential.
Verdict
Definitely do not recommend watching it in the theatres.
