This film brings together Sidharth, Nandini Reddy and Samantha who all have been very successful and have got a critical acclaim for their respective last ventures. So the movie in their combination released with high expectations
Story : The main plot of the movie borrows a lot from the Bollywood flick “Band Baaja Baraat”. Here Byrraju (Siddharth) is a wayward disorderly guy who cheats people around and Shreya (Samantha) is a smart girl who wants to start her own event management company. Byrraju and Shreya meet in unusual circumstances and become partners. They start an event management and in the process Shreya falls in love with Byrraju, but his aim is to earn more money. Rest of the story is all about how they find out that they are made for each other.
Performances :
Sidhartha has done a mass role but this time he manages to do really well, using his broken English and playing a street smart guy to perfection. Samantha gets a meatier role to play after a long time. Sayaji Shinde and Srihari have done an amazing job playing goons. But the surprise package in the movie is the performance of Nitya Menon. She manages to steal the thunder of everybody in every scene she is present.
Technical aspects :
Nandini Reddy who gave us oodles of freshness on her last film “Ala Modalaindi” decided to do a no-brainer comedy film with full dose of over action in it. The movie has no sensibilities as of such, They are just aimed to get more comical situations. Music by Thaman is ok but it is becoming repetitive. Editing is fine. Cinematography is nice, few songs are shot really well.
Conclusion :
Jabardasth is a no-brainer rib tickling comedy. Watch it if you haven’t watched “Band Baaja Baraat” or if you like David dhawan and priyadarshan style of comedy movies.
