Nikitha Narayan
Nikitha Narayan, the young lanky actress is debuting in the movie “It’s My Love Story“, which is currently under production. While Nikitha hails from Bangalore, Karnataka, she along with her family is settled down in Hyderabad, AP for the past 12 years. Nikitha’s parents come from a creative background, which has perhaps spurred her to walk the same path.
Here are the excerpts of her interview that was conducted near the film set of the movie in Hyderabad
Tell us about yourself
I was born in Bangalore, but I am proud to be a complete “Hyderabadi”, as I’ve made this wonderful city my home for the past 12 years. I just completed my graduation in Bachelor of Management Studies from St. Francis College, Begumpet, Hyderabad. My father is an advertising and corporate communications professional. Currently he is working as AVP in Deloitte, Hyderabad, while my mother, though a qualified Interior Designer has opted to be a home maker. I have a younger sister who is in intermediate 2nd year right now.
My Achievements:
– At the age of 10, I acted in a commercial for “Annapurna Salt” with the reputed ad and movie director, Rajiv Menon.
– Won the title “Dabur Gulabari Miss Fresh Face of Hyderabad 2009” conducted by the Dabur and sponsored by Deccan Chronicle. I was the Brand Ambassador for “Dabur Gulabari” for a year.
– Acted in commercial for “Fair & Lovely”.
– In 2010, was awarded as the 2nd runner up for “Hair-O-Max Miss South India”, Kochi
– In 2010, I was among the finalists in “Miss Queen of India” contest held in Bangalore
How did you sign up for this movie?
Director Madhura Sridhar sir held auditions for the movie “It’s My Love Story”. He saw my profile on a social networking site and got in touch with me. I auditioned for the role and was selected. When they narrated the story of the movie, I was quite excited and signed it.
What do you like to do in your free time?
I love dancing, drawing, sketching and adventure sports like rock climbing.
What’s your dream job?
I’ve always been a topped in academics and it’s my ambition and dream to become a corporate celebrity.
Who is your Favorite Actor and Actresses in tollywood?
Among actors I adore Siddharth. I love his “boy-next-door” looks and natural acting.
Among actresses I like Trisha, Nithya Menon & Kamalini Mukherjee. They have all carved a good niche for themselves and are doing really well in the industry.
What kind of movies you are looking forward after this?
Well I would love to do action oriented and thriller flicks. I would like to do a movie like “Aisha” because as a model I think it suits me very well.
Do you have any plans to getting into Kollywood or Bollywood?
If I get a good script and a good role that I can relate to, I would be happy to take up such offers, irrespective of any language. I know Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi apart from English. I believe that Indian movie industry is a fantastic one for someone like me to explore and excel in.
What kind of role you are playing in “It’s My Love Story”?
I am playing the lead heroine role of “Vandana” in this movie. Vandana is a fashion designer from Vizag with a traditional touch. She has her own moral values and a very good background. At some moment she falls in love with a caring man (Arvind) and carries a platonic living relationship. But her parents misunderstand her and do not agree for their marriage. The movie is a contemporary, youth-oriented love story, that everyone can relate to and enjoy.
Did you relate to your character?
Yes, due to my background in modeling, it helped me greatly in understanding and relating myself to the role.
