OGIRALA RAMACHANDRA RAO

Ogirala Ramachandra Rao was born to Ogirala Janardhana Sarma and Subbamma at Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh on 10th of September 1905. He was one of the popular music directors of Telugu cinema in its initial stage. In the year 1939 Ramachandra Rao got an Opaortunity to play the role of Lord Shiva in the film Sri Venkateshwara Mahathyam (Balaji) Directed by P. Pullaiah. He got the opurtunity to score music for the film Malli Pelli directed and produced by Y V Rao with Kanchanamala in the female lead released in 1939. Ogirala also rendered a duet song along with Kanchanamala in the film.

Ogirala provided music along with Chitthuru Nagaiah for the films (1) Swarga Seema (2) Yogivemana.

Swargaseema was produced and directed by B N Reddy and released in the year 1945.

Yogivemana was directed by K V reddy for producer B N Reddy released in 1947.

This popular music director of Telugu cinema died on 17th of June 1957 at Chennai.
