P.Pullaiah

The great director and film producer P.Pullaiah was born on 2nd May 1911 at Nellore Town Andhra Pradesh.

He was married to Actress ‘Shanta Kumari’.
He directed the most popular Telugu drama ‘Kanyasulakam’, written by Gurajada Appa Rao.
The great singer Ghantasala appeared on the screen in his Film ‘Sri Venkateswara Mahathyam’ in the song ‘Sesha Sailavasa Sri Venkatesa’.
He directed many Telugu films.
His movie ‘Jayabheri’ was a great musical hit.
He was honoured with the prestigious ‘Raghupathi Venkayya Award by the Govt of Andhra Pradesh in the year 1981.
P.Pulliah’s wife Santha Kumari was also honoured with Raghupathi Venkayya Award.
They are the only couple in Telugu film industry to be honoured by this prestigious award.
