Review: Pavitra is a heroine centered movie where Shriya Saran plays the role of a prostitute. Shriya Saran gave an outstanding performance in this message oriented movie. The movie revolves around the life of Pavitra and how she fights against corruption that is being carried out by the politicians and the swamijis of our country.
Story: Pavitra (played by Shriya Saran) gets into prostitution to save her mother from an illness. Her mother dies anyway and Pavitra becomes a full fledged prostitute to get herself out of poverty. When she gets enough money to sustain herself, Pavitra runs a trust which gives free treatment to the poor so that other girls should not get into prostitution in the circumstances that she did.
Siva (played by Sivaji) is a photographer who tricks girls into sleeping with him and makes money by selling those videos. When one of his victims attempts suicide, Pavitra comes to her rescue and plots against Sivaji. She takes away all his money distributes it to the poor. Kaushik (played by Abhi) who is the son of an MLA (played by Sai Kumar) meanwhile falls in love with Pavitra. While waging a war against the corrupt politicians of the country, how Pavitra and Kaushik get their MLA father to accept their relationship is the rest of the story.
Performances: Shriya Saran gives an outstanding performance as the prostitute of Pavitra by fitting into the role perfectly. The rest of the cast like Sivaji, Tanikella Bharani, AVS, Roja and Saikumar being highly experienced gave brilliant performances. The director did a very good job, dealing with a less popular subject in a very decent manner.
Bottomline: Pavitra is a bold and a message oriented movie which is sure to inspire the audiences.
