Producer Chinta Gopalakrishna Reddy Interview

Produced “KA” with a Desire to Make a Good Movie – Producer Chinta Gopalakrishna Reddy

Young and talented hero Kiran Abbavaram stars in the upcoming period thriller “KA.” Nayan Sarika and Tanvi Ram play the leading roles. Presented by Mrs. Chinta Varalakshmi, the film is produced by Chinta Gopalakrishna Reddy under the banner of Srichakraas Entertainments, featuring high production values. The director duo Sujith and Sandeep is crafting a village-based action thriller. “KA” is set for a grand theatrical release in Telugu on Diwali, October 31st. The film will be distributed in Telugu by producer Vamsi Nandipati and in Malayalam by hero Dulquer Salmaan through his Wayfarer Films. In a recent interview, producer Chinta Gopalakrishna Reddy shared his experience of producing “KA.”

“I want to thank everyone supporting our movie ‘KA.’ I hail from Rajahmundry and come from a farming family. My passion for music since childhood sparked my interest in films. Even after establishing myself as a businessman, my love for cinema remained strong. I produced a film called ‘Ippudu Kaaka Inkeppudu’ during the lockdown, aiming to support new talent. Once they gained recognition, a notable producer offered us a chance. My goal isn’t to make money; rather, I want to gain experience by producing smaller films. Recognition for creating quality cinema is what truly matters to me. The satisfaction of having my film seen by millions is invaluable. Following that project, I served as a co-producer for ‘Yashoda,’ starring Samantha, which helped me gain some recognition in the industry. I entered this field with the intention of helping others and providing employment, so I believe I won’t face difficulties as a producer. I balance filmmaking with my business ventures.

I have a high opinion of Kiran Abbavaram. This project came to me through him, and when I heard the story of ‘KA,’ I found the content refreshingly unique. It combines suspense with emotional depth, featuring impactful dialogues that convey significant meaning. Directors Sujeeth and Sandeep effectively presented the script, and I trust their capability to deliver. When this project came my way, they were even training a puppy named Ramu for the film, demonstrating their thorough preparation. As we approach the release, I’m pleased to see our cast and crew receiving great offers. I aspire to help them take their first steps in the industry.

Kiran Abbavaram is a dedicated hero who worked exceptionally hard on ‘KA.’ During filming in May, he often shot double call sheets, starting in the afternoon and continuing until the early morning. Even after late-night shoots, he would return to set by 5 AM. The studio team has noted how efficiently our crew works. Our directors were uncompromising in their pursuit of perfection, ensuring that every shot was visually stunning. Even in the final week of production, they were capturing additional shots to enhance the film. The entire team consists of individuals who have previously collaborated with Kiran, fostering a strong sense of teamwork that eased my burden as a producer.”

The story of the movie “KA” has been presented more effectively than our directors initially envisioned. I was impressed with the outcome; their creative interpretation of the story instilled confidence in me that they can achieve anything. A sequel could also be developed from this film. Following the release of our teaser trailer, it became a trend, and as a producer, I’m thrilled that so many people are discussing our movie today. Immediately after the teaser was released, we received numerous business inquiries. Kiran suggested Vamsi Nandipati, who offered to handle the release in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. There are many excellent theaters available, particularly in Hyderabad, where we will release the film in over 350 locations.

I have no regrets about it not being a pan-Indian release. After “Kantara” became a hit in Kannada and then a blockbuster in Telugu, we realized that if a movie resonates well in Telugu, it can generate excitement in other languages. Our entire team believes in the film’s content. Initially, we considered naming the movie “Ichhotane,” which we thought was a good title. However, since many hit films have been released under the name “KA,” our directors provided justification for choosing the title “KA.” The entire unit, along with the lead actor, is committed to making a great film.

For producer Shivalenka Krishnaprasad, cinema is a passion, just as it is for me. I am also co-producing a movie called “Sarangapani Jatakam” with him after “Yashoda.” Gopi expressed his enthusiasm for our collaboration, as he has directed many successful films. I’ve heard four stories so far, and a new project from our company is expected to be finalized in January. The film industry presents challenges unlike any other field, yet it also offers recognition and fame that are hard to find elsewhere. My goal as a producer is to ensure that Chinta Gopalakrishna Reddy’s film is recognized as a quality production.
