Pushpa 2: The Rule is a 2024 Indian Telugu-language action drama film directed by Sukumar and produced by Mythri Movie Makers, in association with Sukumar Writings. The film stars Allu Arjun in the titular role, alongside Rashmika Mandanna, Fahadh Faasil, Jagapathi Babu, Dhananjaya, Rao Ramesh, Sunil and Anasuya Bharadwaj. It is the second instalment in the Pushpa film series and the sequel to the 2021 film Pushpa: The Rise.
Story:
The story continues from Pushpa 1 : The Rise, giving us pushpa’s days in power and his challenges to keep and expand his power.
Review:
Pushpa’s Rule is like a lavish buffet in terms of the action episodes, elevations, music, dances, comedy and almost all the commercial aspects that a movie can have.
In between all this grandeur Pushpa’s struggle for getting an honor by getting the surname Mulleti is the main point that is being conveyed and Pushpa’s pursuit for getting it is a point that is highlighted in the movie.
Rashmika Mandanna, Rao Ramesh and Fahaad Fasil are other actors that share major screen space and have done justice to their roles.
Sunil and Anasuya do not have much impact, they are mainly used for comedy and keep the interest in the track of Sandalwood syndicate going. Jagapathi babu makes a brief appearance with a role that has potential to continue in the next part as well.
The visuals of the movie are rich but the music, screenplay and dialogues are not so engaging.
The item song Kissik is not engaging despite some good dance moves by Sreeleela and Allu Arjun.
Allu Arjun’s performance stands out and he could again bag awards as well.
Verdict:
Overall the movie is good in patches and a treat for Allu Arjun’s fans. It’s a one time watch at the theatres
