Robinhood Movie Review

Robinhood is a 2025 Indian Telugu-language heist action comedy film written and directed by Venky Kudumula and produced by Mythri Movie Makers. The film stars Nithiin and Sreeleela in the lead role, alongside Vennela Kishore, Rajendra Prasad, Devdatta Nage and Shine Tom Chacko. The soundtrack and background score were composed by G. V. Prakash Kumar, while the cinematography and editing was handled by Sai Sriram and Koti.
Story
Ram/Robinhood is thief who steals from the rich to provide money to orphanages and old-age homes. After a police officer starts chasing him intensely, Ram decides to lay low and get a job as a security agent. When Neera, a daughter of a rich Indian from Australia, needs to travel back to her village in India, Ram becomes a part of her security detail. When the story of the village being oppressed is revealed, Ram and Neera decide to help free the village from the villain.
Review
It is a worn out screenplay seen in many Telugu films before it, a smart Hero, a place being oppressed by a comically stereotypical villain, a silly yet beautiful heroine, a comedian beside the hero. The comedy punches also miss a lot. The conclusion is also very dissatisfactory with a setup to a wider cinematic universe by using David Warner, where other actors might play the role of Robinhood.
The performances are decent for a commercial movie, most of the actors doing comedy on screen. The music is forgettable, the song entry is also abrupt.
Verdict
A routine movie with comedy from a different era. Watch it if you like to watch this type of comedy but otherwise skip it in theatres.
