The movie Rudramadevi, which stars Anushka in the lead role started its shooting. The movie, which happens to be the first historical stereoscopic 3d movie, has an enormous and an expensive set that has been put up. The setting was built at Gopanpally which is known for the huge movie settings like Okkadu’s charminar that were set up here.

The movie also stars Daggubati Rana in the role of Chalukya Veerabhadra. It stars yesteryear’s actor Krishnam Raju who plays the role of Ganapathi Deva Chakravarthi and Prakash Raj who plays the role of Mahamanthri Sivadevayya. Some of the major roles are played by, Ajay who will be seen as Prasadaditya, Baba Sehgal who will play the role of Naga devudu, Nathalia Kaur as Annambika, Jaarasha as Mummadamma, Venu Madhava as Tittibhi, Jaya Prakash Reddy as Amba Devudu, Hamsanandani as Madhanika and Prabha as Somambha.

The movie also has Brahmanandham, M.S.Narayana, Dharmavarapu Subramanyam, Vennela Kishore and Brahmaji playing major supporting roles. The movie has Maestro Ilayaraja composing music for it. The screen play, direction and production of the movie is being done by Gunashekhar. The costumes which will be designed by Neeta Lulla, the famous costume designer who has designed for Jodha Akbar are something that should be watched out for.

Speaking about Rudramadevi, Gunashekhar, the producer said “We have started the shooting at this enormous set which costed us some crores of rupees.  The graphic work of the movie has started already. We treat this project as a very important one and will make it such that it will remain a master piece in the history of Indian film industry. We will not compromise on anything for making the movie and we are using the highest possible technical standards for “Rudramadevi”. He also gave the details as to who will play which role in the movie.
