Lakshmi Narasimha Rao, popularly known as Sutthi Velu has born in a Middleclass family at Chennai on 7th of August 1947. His father was a school teacher. From childhood Velu developed passion for acting. He was given a small role by Jandhyala in his film Muddamandaram(1981). The major breakthrough was with Jandhyala’s Nalugu Sthambala Ata(year 1982). In the film Nalugu Sthambala Ata he paired with other popular actor Veerabhadra rao. The pair was nicknamed as Sutthi Janta and became popular comedy duo. He is a comedian with own style of diction of dialogues. He has acted in 250 plus films as comedian. In the film Chanttabbai he lived in the role as Chiranjeevi’s assistant. He acted as a Police constable in the film Pathighatana. He was Honored with Visesha Puraskaram by Dr.Ramineni Foundation, Vizag for the year 2010 for his contribution to the Telugu Cinema.

He was honored with Nandi Award for the year 1985 as best supporting actor in the film “Vandematharam”
