Business of tollywood (dot) com is on dot for writing few lines on Tollywood on its 80th birthday. Bhakthaprahlada, by director-producer H M Reddy was released on 15th of September 1931, Exactly 80 years back. What H M Reddy started was carried on by many giants in the Industry entertaining the Telugu Cine lovers with various experiments in the Telugu Cinema. Raghupathi Venkkaiah Naidu is the No.1 amongst them. The Andhra Pradesh Government has cited “Raghupatghi Venkaiah Award” for honoring those responsible for their commendable service to the industry. H M Reddy, Raghupathi Venkaiah Naidu, K V Reddy, B N Reddy, B Nagireddy, Chakrapani, L V Prasad, P Pullaiah, C Pulliaiah. Chitrapu Narayana Rao, Vedantham Raghavaiah Chithoor v Naggaiah and other greats laid the foundation for the Telugu Cinema. Kamalakara Kameswara Rao, D V S Raju, D L Narayana, K S Prakasa Rao, Adurthi Subba Rao, K B Tilak, V Madhusudan Rao , K Prathyagathma, D Madhusudan Rao, B S Ranga, B Padhmanabham did their best to stabilize Telugu Cinema.
Then started the period of Rama Naidu, Thammareddy Krishna Murthy, Bapu, K Vishwanath, K Raghavendra Rao, Singeetham Srinivasa Rao, Rama Krishna,C.Ashwini Dutt,S.Bhavanarayana,Kodandarami Reddy,Dasari Narayana Rao,S V Krishna Reddy. They elevated Tollywood to new heights.
V V Vinayak, Rajamauli, Puri Jagannath, Trivikram Srinivas, Ram Gopal Varma, Sekhar Kammula, Allu Aravind, Dil Raju and many others are striving hard to make Tollywood No.1 in the country as Directors and Producers of Telugu Cinemas.
Samudrala Raghavacharya, Samudrala Ramanujacharya, Pingali Nagendra Rao, D V Narasa Raju, Kosa raju, AcharyAthreya, Dasaradhi, Devulapalli venkata Krishna Sastry, Arudra, Dr. C Narayana Reddy, Veturi, Veturi, Appalacharya, Parachuri Brothers, Vennelakanti, Trivikram Srinivas, Rajasri, Sirivennela Seetha Ramasastry have contributed their best as Dialogue Writers and Lyricists.
CR Subburaman (Devadasu fame), C Naggaiah, Ogirala Ramachandra Rao, Ghantasala Venkateshwara Rao, Adinarayana Rao, Pendyala Nageshwara Rao, S Rajeshwara Rao, T Chalapathi Rao, S P Kodandapani, T V Raju, Ashwathama, K V Mahadevan, M S Vishvanathan, M S Prakash, M Sathyam, Chakravarthi, Ramesh Naidu, Illaya Raja, M M Keeravani, Mani Sarma, Vandematharam Srinivas, R P Patnaik, Devi Sri Prasad, Chakri are the few Music Directors amongst a big list. These greats should be remembered on this Tollywood Day.
C.Naggaiah, Suribabu, Eelapata Raghuramaiah, Ghantasala Venkateshwara Rao, Madhavapeddi Sathyam, M S Rama Rao, P B Srinivas, Pithapuram Nageshwara Rao, S P Balasubrahmanyam, V Ramakrishna Das, Mano(Nagoorbabu) are the Best Singers of the Tollywood to be remembered today.
Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao and Akkineni Nageshwara Rao have ruled the Telugu cinema as real heroes for about 3 decades. ANR is still at the age of 86 acting as Valmiki in Bapu’s Sri Rama Rajyam.
T L Kantha Rao, Ramakrishna, Haranath, Sobhan Babu also contributed their best to the Telugu Cinema.
Krishna, Krishnam Raju, Murali Mohan, Chandramohan, Giribabu, Rajendra Prasad and Mohan Babu also done their best to Tollywood.

Suryakumari,Sriranjani,G.Varalakshmi,Savitr,Bhanumathi,Rajasulochana,Pandari Bhai, Kannamba, S Varalakshmi, G Nirmalamma, Vanisri, Jaya Sudha, Jaya Prada, Sri Devi, Saundarya, Sarada, Ramaprabha, Geethanjali, Kanchana and Anjali Devi lived in the female characters of Telugu Cinema.
Suryakantham and Chayadevi were the Best Gayyali Atthalu in Telugu Films.
C.Naggaiah, C.Narayanarao, LVPrasad, Lingamurthy, Gummadi, S V Rangarao, Mikkilineni, Mukkamala, K V S Sarma, J V Somayajulu, C. Nagabhushanam, Rajanala, R Nageshwara Rao, Prabhakara Reddy, Thyaga Raju, Sakshi Ranga Rao, Kongara Jaggaiah, Rao Gopala Rao were the best Character actors with the last four in main villain characters.
K Sathyanarayana, Balayya, Gollapudi Maruthi Rao Contributed their best to Telugu Cinema.
Kota Srinivasa Rao is a best Character/Villian/Commedy actor.
Relangi, Ramana Reddy, Boddapati, Chadalawada Kutumba Rao, Dr.Sivaramkrishnayya, AlluRamalingaiah, Balakrishna, Padhmanabham, Chalam, Raja Babu, K V Chalam, Brahmanandam, Sutthi Veerabhadra Rao, Ravi Kondala Rao, Sutthi Velu, MSNarayana, AVS, Ali, BabuMohan, T Bharani, L B Sriram may be the best comedians of the Tollywood.
B S Ranga is responsible for the first Color Mythological Movie Lava-Kusa
Adurthi Subba Rao Has introduced all new faces in his film Tenemanasulu. This is the First Telugu Social movie in Eastman Color.
Krishna has the credit of making the first Cinemascope film ”Alluri Seetharamaraju”
