Director Mahi V. Raghav, following the success of “Yatra,” presents its sequel “Yatra 2,” a biographical political drama ready to release just before the 2024 general elections. Produced by Shiva Meka under the banner of Three Autumn Leaves, the movie chronicles the padayatra of late YS Rajasekhar Reddy. Its sequel shifts focus to YS Jagan’s padayatra from 2017 to 2019 and his journey after his father’s demise. Mamooty stars as YS Rajasekhar Reddy, while Tamil actor Jiiva portrays YS Jagan. The film is set to premiere on Feb 8th, following the release of its song and teaser, which received positive feedback from audiences and YS Rajasekhar Reddy’s admirers.
The recently unveiled trailer captures pivotal moments, starting with a family seeking help for their daughter’s hearing impairment, followed by YSR’s passing. Despite opposition from Congress leaders, Jagan persists with his padayatra, culminating in Congress’ decision to teach him a lesson. The trailer concludes with a poignant scene where a blind man appeals to Jagan, recognizing him as YSR’s son, and Jagan responds with his signature catchphrase “Nenu Vunnanu… Nenu Vinnanu.”
The ensemble cast includes Mamooty, Jiiva, Ketaki Narayan, Mahesh Manjrekar, Suzanne Bernert, Subhalekha Sudhakar, and George Maryan. Directed by Mahi V.
