Awards Honors for Tollywood in 2013

Comedian hero Ali was honored with a Doctorate by Academy of Universal Global Peace. Ali’s 50th movie as hero,Alibaba Okkade Donga was launched in this year and is ready for a release in January 2014.

Evergreen hero Akkineni Nageswara Rao 90th Birthday celebrated at Chennai as part of celebrations of 100 Years of Indian Cinema.

One of the great character actors of Telugu cinema,Kota Srinivasa Rao was honored with Allu Ramalingaiah award.

Popular music director M M Keeravani was honored with ANR Lifetime achievement award for the year 2013. The Telugu Film Director K. Raghavendra Rao, Yesteryear’s Super Star Krishna, the great female director Vijaya Nirmala and the great comedian of Tollywood Ali were  honored with the actor Akkineni  lifetime achievement Swarna Kankan Award.

‘P B Srinivas Puraskar’,a new award in the memory of late Sri P B Srinivas, Popular Singer  was instituted by ‘Aruna – Nitya Gopal Foundation’. Ace music composer M S Vishwanathan and acclaimed singer Vani Jayaram  are  the first recipients of this award.

P Suseela award initiated  and the first award presented to singer Vani Jayaram.

Popular director Shyam Benegal received 8th ANR National award for the year 2012.
