Bommareddy Narasimha Reddy (B N Reddy) was born on 16th of November 1908 at Y Kotthapalli village in Cuddapah district of Andhra Pradesh. He was a charted accountant by profession and a stage artiste by passion. He was the brother of the great producer B Nagi Reddy of Vijaya Pictures. B N Reddy is one of the Great directors of early Telugu cinema.
The musical classic Malleswari was directed by this great director.
For the film Rangula Ratnam he thought that Chandra Mohan is the Right actor for the role.So he Introduced actor Chandramohan with this film.
He made actress Vanisri act in an entirely different village girl role in his film Bangarupunjaram.
He was one of the great directors in early Telugu cinema that took care for the script, selecting actors and music and presentation.
For most of his movies, B N Reddy prefered the services of great writer Palagummi Padmaraju as Lyricist and dialogue writer.
