Kotha Malupu Heroine Bhairavi Ardhya Deka Media Interaction

“‘Kotha Malupu’ Is Truly a New Turning Point in My Life” – Actress Bhairavi Ardhya Deka

A Special Media Interaction with Bhairavi Ardhya Deka

As Kotha Malupu, starring Akash (son of popular singer Sunitha) and Bhairavi Ardhya Deka in the lead roles, gears up for its theatrical release on June 12, actress Bhairavi Ardhya Deka interacted with media representatives and shared interesting insights about her journey, the film, and her future aspirations. Directed by Shiva Varaprasad and produced by Thati Balakrishna, the film marks Bhairavi’s Telugu debut.

Having come all the way from Assam and learned Telugu to portray a Konaseema village girl on screen, Bhairavi spoke candidly about her experiences and challenges.

Q: Tell us about your background. How did your journey from Assam to Tollywood begin?

Bhairavi Ardhya Deka:
I am from Assam, and my parents and younger sister still live there. Since childhood, I have always been fascinated by films and acting. I grew up watching movies, including Telugu films, and gradually developed a dream of becoming an actress. I decided to pursue that dream with determination and worked hard to make it a reality.

Q: How did you get the opportunity to be a part of Kotha Malupu?

Bhairavi:
While continuing my studies, I started attending auditions. At that time, I didn’t know Telugu at all. But I never gave up. For nearly two to three years, I kept attending auditions and made a conscious effort to learn the language. I practiced speaking Telugu with people around me and gradually improved. This film is the result of that persistence and hard work.

Q: Tell us about your character in the film.

Bhairavi:
My character’s name is Varalakshmi. She is an innocent and free-spirited village girl from Konaseema. She lives life on her own terms and follows her heart. It is a very natural and relatable character, and as an actress, it gave me a wonderful opportunity to showcase my performance.

Q: How was your experience portraying a girl from Konaseema?

Bhairavi:
The beauty of Konaseema fascinated me. The coconut groves, local culture, and food were all completely new experiences for me. I especially loved the seafood. The lifestyle in Assam is very different from that of Konaseema, so before the shoot began, I stayed there for nearly a month to observe the local culture, dressing style, body language, and dialect.

That preparation helped me a lot. In fact, many people now tell me that they never felt I was from Assam and believe I look and behave like a native Telugu girl.

Q: What were the biggest challenges you faced while working on this film?

Bhairavi:
Language was definitely the biggest challenge. Even after learning Telugu, adapting to the Godavari-region dialect was not easy. We also shot during the monsoon season, so the weather conditions were sometimes difficult. However, with the support of the entire team, I was able to overcome those challenges.

Q: How supportive were the director and the hero during the shoot?

Bhairavi:
Director Shiva Varaprasad garu was extremely patient and supportive. Whenever I had difficulty understanding a dialogue or a scene, he would explain everything clearly. Akash was also very encouraging and helpful throughout the shoot. Even though I was new to the industry, they never made me feel uncomfortable. Their support played a huge role in helping me perform better in the film.

Q: What is your opinion about the Telugu film industry?

Bhairavi:
I have been a fan of Telugu cinema since my school days. I love the storytelling and emotional depth in Telugu films. After entering the industry, I found everyone to be very welcoming and supportive. I also learned a lot about acting here. To improve my skills, I completed a six-month acting course at Natarang Theatre in Hyderabad.

Q: Who are your favorite Telugu actors and actresses?

Bhairavi:
Among actors, I admire Pawan Kalyan and Mahesh Babu the most. Among actresses, I am a huge fan of Rashmika Mandanna and Samantha Ruth Prabhu.

Q: What do you like most about Hyderabad?

Bhairavi:
The first thing that comes to my mind is Hyderabad’s famous Chicken Dum Biryani. I absolutely love it. I also like the city’s atmosphere and the warmth and hospitality of the people here.

Q: Have you watched Kotha Malupu? What was your reaction?

Bhairavi:
Yes, I have already watched the film three times. I genuinely loved it. The movie has family emotions, entertainment, comedy, suspense, and several engaging elements. It has something for every section of the audience, and I strongly believe people will enjoy it.

Q: Are you interested in working on OTT projects?

Bhairavi:
Absolutely. For me, the most important thing is a good story and a meaningful character. Whether it is a theatrical film or an OTT project, I am open to both. My ultimate goal is to become a respected actress and make my parents proud.

Q: Who inspires you the most?

Bhairavi:
It is difficult to name just one person. I learn something from every senior artist. Their struggles, dedication, and success stories inspire me to keep improving and moving forward.

Q: What is your opinion on glamour in cinema?

Bhairavi:
Glamour is definitely important for an actress, but it is not enough by itself. Acting talent, choosing the right roles, and delivering memorable performances are equally important. I want to build my career through good films and meaningful characters.

Finally...
"The Telugu audience has shown me immense love and encouragement. I hope to continue receiving their blessings and support. Please watch and encourage ‘Kotha Malupu’ in theatres. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart," said Bhairavi Arthya.

From a young dreamer in Assam to a promising new face in Tollywood, Bhairavi Arthya is all set to make her mark with Kotha Malupu. As she takes her first big step into Telugu cinema, the industry is eagerly watching where this exciting new journey will lead her next.
