TFCC Short Film Festival Awards – 2026 Announced to Encourage Young Talent: TFCC Chairman Dr. Prathani Ramakrishna Goud 

Free Entry Submission Open Until 13th June

Grand Awards Ceremony to be Held on 21st June at Prasad Labs, Hyderabad

The Telangana Film Chamber of Commerce (TFCC) has come forward to encourage emerging talent in the film industry. Marking the 12th Telangana Formation Day celebrations, TFCC Chairman Dr. Prathani Ramakrishna Goud officially announced the “TFCC Short Film Festival Awards – 2026.”
There is no entry fee for participation in the festival. Aspiring filmmakers, actors, and technicians can submit their short films with a duration ranging from 5 to 25 minutes. Entries will be accepted until June 13, and the winners selected by the jury will be honored at a grand awards ceremony on 21st June  at Prasad Labs, Hyderabad.

Speaking at the press meet, Dr. Prathani Ramakrishna Goud said that the festival is being launched as part of the Telangana Formation Day celebrations and will be organized every year hereafter. He noted that many successful actors and filmmakers in the industry began their careers through short films.
The festival will present awards in nearly 20 categories, including Best Story, Best Director, Best Hero, Best Heroine, Best Actor, Best Co-Artist, Best Screenplay, Best Cinematographer, Best Background Music, Best Supporting Actress, Jury Award, Best Producer, Best Journalist (Print & Electronic Media), Best Photo Journalist, and Best Cameraman, among others. He urged talented newcomers to make use of this opportunity and showcase their creativity.

TFCC Vice Chairman Gururaj praised Dr. Ramakrishna Goud’s efforts in promoting new talent and stated that conducting the festival without any entry fee is a commendable initiative.

TFCC Organizing Secretary Aksa Khan said that the festival provides an excellent platform for aspiring artists and filmmakers to prove their talent. He added that entries have already started coming in and encouraged participants to submit their films before June 13.

TFCC Vice Chairman Alla Bhakshu remarked that while many film festivals charge hefty entry fees, TFCC is offering this opportunity completely free of cost. He pointed out that several successful actors and directors have risen through short films and expressed confidence that this festival would help identify fresh talent.

TFCC Coordination Committee Secretary Prakash Goud appreciated the initiative and said that the festival would serve as a valuable platform for directors, actors, and technicians to showcase their skills. He encouraged all eligible participants to take advantage of this opportunity.

The speakers expressed hope that the TFCC Short Film Festival Awards – 2026 would emerge as a significant platform for discovering, recognizing, and encouraging new talent in the film industry.
